I. GENERAL
– Synchronizing is a combination of generators with capacity smaller than load, which is operated in parallel to achieve greater total power than demand.
– Synchronizing box with many generators is used when power source gets a problem, the standby generators will start automatically for synchronization and sharing load with each other; in addition, the system also features monitoring load and decides to run the number generator according to the needs of the load. In addition, as an option, we will also design so that the system can synchronize with power of the grid. The system of synchronizing box consists of many cabinets with appropriate size. According to standard design of NPTPOWER, synchronizing box system will consist of: One main cabinet and cabinet for controlling generator. Main cabinet will control and monitor the whole system. The main cabinet may of may not include circuit breakers (ACB) or ATS depending on customer demands. Each cabinet will control and monitor each individual generator.
II. BENEFITS OF SYNCHRONIZATION
– When load is low, just run one or two generator to optimize electric power supply.
– Maintenance and repair cost saving for small unit, which eases fix, common spare parts, less damaged by running at optimum load.
– Allowing rising capacity in the future as required without having to give up the old generator.
– Allowing investing a portion in advance if maximum capacity is not needed.
– Provides continuously and absolutely power because generators shall be standby to the others, make sure that when one generator get problem, then there are still other generators to be in operation.
III. STRUCTURE OF SYNCHRONIZATION BOX NPTPOWER
– Box is designed as multi-format compatibility to allow easing connection for expansion of capacity.
– Solid and compact structure with highly aesthetic. Lifting and transporting shall be easy and safe.
– Use advanced switchgears from Germany, France, Japan, and South Korea…etc with ensured quality and suitable to capacity of generator
– Casing is galvanized or electrostatic painted according to international standards with high elasticity, anti-UV, free from rust and corrosion.
IV. OPERATION MODES OF SYNCHRONIZING BOX NPTPOWER
Each generator can operate in auto, semi auto or manual mode and stop:
– OFF: Can not start the generator (MPD) on Synchronizing box (HDB), and only start on electric cabinet of Generator for testing purposes without load or maintenance
– AUTO: Generator will automatically run and stop when main source gets breakdown or recovery. The system will automatically sync and distribute load evenly to Generators, depending on load level. While working in parallel, if load is reduced, one or more Generators will automatically transfer to the system and stop in order as programmed. When load increases, these Generators will automatically start and synchronize into the system in the order established. Where recovery of the system, after the delay time set to ensure stable grid condition, the system will automatically switch power of generator/grid to return to normal operating status. Generator, after cooling running, will automatically stop and switch to standby mode.
– MAN: Generator is started/stopped by pressing button on the panel. System is synchronized by the clock along with testing relay. Load is distributed by adjusting rheostats.
